Who are you living for?
We are all full of opinions. Opinions on what we should be doing in life, opinions on what is and what isn’t good for us, opinions on what looks good and what doesn’t look so good…I could go on but I won’t. The reality is that we are also surrounded by the opinions of others. Some of these opinions are about you and the way you do things some aren’t. Either way it’s up to you to decide whether you are always going to let other people’s opinions dictate the way you live your live. So I ask again, who are you living for? Think about it and make sure you have been caught up constantly living for others or by others opinions. Live your life for YOU (and the few that mean the most to you).
Running update – #1
So I said that I’d post an update this week, so what better way to fill my lunch break today? My intention with The British 10k London Run prep was to try and get up early in the morning and go for a run before work…well that was the plan. So far this week I have not been able to peel myself out of bed early enough, so instead I’ve been for a run/walk twice after work. I wish I could say that they have been easy but honestly they have actually tested me and by the end of each I’m left asking myself “Wwhhhhhhyyyyy?” Obviously, I then slowly remember the faces of the children that benefited from the first school Yaarah Schools built in the Volta region of Ghana and that genuinely makes me feel a little better!
If you would like to help me reach the £1000 target we are trying to raise for the next school please click here. I’m hoping with time I might actually start to enjoy this running thing enough to want to get out of bed earlier….we’ll see!
And so the countdown begins…
At the start of this week I realised that I only had 10 weeks left to get ready for The British 10k Run I had agreed to do to raise money for the charity Yaarah Schools. The charity is dedicated to building a learning lifeline to children who currently have no or limited access to education due to a lack of school buildings. When my little sister Adizah Tejani approached me towards the end of last year about doing the run with her – I thought ‘that’ll be easy!’ It’s now dawning on me just how far 10k is for unseasoned runners like myself! I like to walk (a little bit) but not to the extent that I wouldn’t rather wait for a bus if I know there is one going in the same direction I intend to go…. Read the rest of this entry
The babies are back…AGAIN! :)
Anyone that knows me knows how much I love the ‘Evian – Live Young’ adverts! So when I saw the latest addition to the adverts a few weeks ago I was understandably very excited!
The adverts shows adults seeing themselves as toddlers in the reflection of a shop window! As you can see from the picture above which was created soon after the advert came out, the results are simply very cute. Although this is all just to help sell a bottle of water, there is no denying this advert brings a smile to peoples faces. No surprise then that in just 2 weeks the advert has been watched 43,491,662 times! Watch the full advert below:
How far would you go to help a friend?
It’s 2.30am and you get a call from your best friend saying they’ve been caught up (losing a lot of money) in a poker game and they need you to help them out…what would you do? Go back to sleep or get out of bed and to assist? This Carlsberg advert found out what some people would or wouldn’t do for their friends…
